A Quick Rundown of Bows

Why do Most People Prefer Compound Bows?

Compound bow is easy to carry, manipulate and adjust. They are easy to carry due to the fact that they are short and also made from metal alloys which are light in weight. Even though other bows can be adjusted as well but it will take you a longer time to adjust other bows than the compound bow. Not only that but getting used to adjusting the string and limbs is very hard in other long bows. But with compound bows they can be easily adjusted to suit what the archer wants.

Compound bows are also beneficial since you can use them easily in a closed quarter. The advantage with this is that the archer will still aim at the target without using a lot of space which might not be available at some point. The disadvantage with long bow is that you will not be in a position to use it properly in an enclosed quarter since it requires a lot of loading space. What most people like with these weapons is convenience which they can achieve from compound bows.

The advantage of compound bows is that you don’t need specific type of climate to use them. Their usage is wide to many climates because if the strong metal alloys that it is made from. Apart from that they are not even affected by bad weather like rain being that they cannot even rust and this makes them to last for a long period of time. Unlike woods which always expand or become weak in case there is a slight change in temperature or humidity. This is not good as it is going to interfere with the tension of the bow. Not only that wood also needs regular maintenance and replacement which is costly.

Archers also prefer compound bows because of the accurate shots and consistent pulling strength. Flying an arrow is something that needs accuracy which can only be achieved by using compound bows. The accuracy and consistency in pulling is obtained from the cables and pulley system used. With inconsistency in other types of bow you will make inaccurate shots. They also differ in speed as compound bow tend to be a little bit faster than the others.

Another advantage of using compound bows is because they are cost-effective. The initial cost does not determine if something is expensive but the period it takes will tell if it is economical or not. For one compound bows last for a long period of time without maintenance. As a result, it will reduce the frequency of replacing them or doing maintenance. Unlike wooden bows which requires regular maintenance and it is also affected by bad weather.
